Welcome to the ICTs Climate Change and Development workshop webspace which will be used for the upcoming workshop, hosted by the Association For Progressive Communications (APC) and the University of Manchester, funded by Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), to be held in Johannesburg, January 23-24, 2012.
The ICCD workshop has three specific purposes:
Awareness: to raise awareness among participants of the role ICTs can play vis-à-vis climate change in developing countries
Action: to identify and advocate specific actions that participants’ organisations can take to improve the strategic integration between ICTs and climate change within development
Agenda: to identify the future ICCD agenda for policy-makers and strategists, for practitioners, and for research
Some 30 participants will be attending the workshop, and we expect the discussions
to be invigorating and challenging for all those engaged in the field, as well as an
important opportunity to network and to make new cross-sectoral and inter-regional
Information about the workshop agenda, logistics, and other background information, can be found through the menu items at the top of this page.
We look forward to welcoming you in Johannesburg!
